Why Is Our Symbol The Butterfly?
What the caterpillar sees as the end, the butterfly sees as just the beginning. The caterpillar goes through a remarkable transformation, called metamorphoses, an amazing process, to become a new creature.

My mom's death was not the end, just a transition to another state of being. Her death was the end of her natural life, the foundation is her rebirth; a new beginning. Through the June Ann Johnson Foundation, her spirit will live on.
Who We Are
The June Ann Johnson Foundation was founded in 2018 by Marisa Madere in honor of her loving mother, June Ann Johnson, who lost her battle with pancreatic cancer. Our goal is to raise awareness about pancreatic cancer to the New Orleans community and its surrounding areas. We strive to improve the lives of cancer patients and their families through education, support services, and outreach programs.
